Our
history
Alexandro Ceconi is an inspiring example of someone never giving up on their dreams. Born and raised in Santa Catarina, Brazil, he held his day job as a car salesman while training Jiu-Jitsu at lunchtime and night under Rilion Gracie— the youngest son of Carlos Gracie, who founded Gracie Jiu-Jitsu! By 2011 Alexandro decided to pursue MMA fighting professionally — putting all his focus into this endeavor until finally achieving success by opening Ceconi BJJ – His very own academy that proudly stands today.

Strong Community
Be a part of our strong-bond community.
- The Gracie system of street self-defense includes solutions to various grabs. It holds, punches and kicks, and even weapons — BJJ demonstrates techniques to overcome many situations.
- Most real fights will end on the ground, but they always start standing up.
- Strength, speed, and coordination are not necessary for the execution of these simple and effective techniques.
- Self-defense is the most critical aspect of any martial art, including Jiu-Jitsu.
- Competency, when faced with personal harm, is a foundation for self-confidence.
- When confronted by a larger and more athletic opponent who doesn’t play by the rules, a man can lose his mind and fail to respond appropriately — this is the danger in sophisticated systems — the shock of unpredictable violence can incapacitate.
- The simple efficiency of these techniques is a boon in overcoming the unpredictable and chaotic circumstances of a real fight.
- Helio Gracie intended Gracie Jiu-Jitsu to be a self-defense art consisting of throws, stand-up self-defense, and ground grappling techniques.

FAQ
Do you allow drop-ins?
All day access pass to BJJ is $20.
Do you offer MMA classes?
We don’t offer MMA classes to the public. In order to attend this type of class, you must be a member of our academy for a significant amount of time. If you’re serious about this class, please express it to one of our coaches and please be extremely respectful towards everyone involved. This class is invite-only.
How many classes am I allowed to take per month?
Our membership is unlimited so for one set price, you’ll be allowed to take as many classes as your schedule permits.
May I attend no-Gi class as a White Belt?
Yes, you may. Ideally you should be a Blue Belt in order to participate in a no-Gi class. It is important for our students to learn the fundamentals of Jiu-Jitsu wearing the Gi first. The Gi allows students to learn the concepts of control at a slower, yet much more effective pace.
Does your school have showers?
Yes, please bring your own toiletries and towel if you wish to shower.
I forgot my belt, may I train without a belt?
No, you may not train without a belt. We kindly ask that you train in a complete uniform. We rent belts for $5.
Do I have to wear a rash guard under my Gi?
You are not obligated to wear a rash guard under your Gi but it’s highly recommended. We have rash guards for sale at the academy.
I would like to sign-up for a membership, but I travel for work often. What can I do?
If you go out of town, you can freeze your membership at no cost. All you have to do is fill out a “freeze form” at the academy and provide us with a return date. Your membership payments will automatically go into effect upon your return date.
