Waiver and Assumption of Risk - Ceconi Brazilian jiu-jitsu

Ceconi BJJ is a gym that provides training in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. While exercise has many benefits, all exercise involves a risk of injury – even serious injury or death. These risks can be made worse by medical conditions, illness, and even the temperature. I understand that while Ceconi BJJ prides itself on providing a safe gym, not all risk can be eliminated and it is my responsibility to speak with a medical professional about any conditions or illness I may have, and I understand it is my responsibility to exercise safely. I assume the risk of injury due to exercise and I will not hold Ceconi Brazilian Jiu-jitsu or its employees liable for any injure occurring during exercise.

Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a martial-arts that involve physical contact. Contact sports, particularly sports that involve striking and submission, pose unique risks of injury. In order to prevent injury, it is the responsibility of all participants to communicate with training partners about injuries, pain, or submissions, and if participants fail to do so, the risk of injury increases. Additionally, contact sports involve person-to-person contact and can transmit disease. It is the responsibility of all participants to stay at home when sick. I assume the risk of injury or illness due to participating in a contact sport and I will not hold Ceconi Brazilian jiu-jitsu or its employees liable for any injury or illness occurring due to contact.

SPECIAL WAIVER: I understand that there is currently an outbreak of a novel respiratory virus, COVID-19, and that this disease can be transmitted from person to person and can lead to death. While Ceconi Brazilian Jiu-jitsu will take reasonable steps to minimize the risk of a COVID-19 infection, there is no way any organization can eliminate that risk entirely. I assume the risk of contracting COVID-19 and if I learn that I have contracted COVID-19, I understand it is my duty to my friends, instructors, training partners, and all the people they come in contact with to stay at home.

I have read this release and waiver. In return for being permitted to participate in classes at Ceconi Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, I agree to waive any claim related to my participation in those classes.
