Gabriela Rosso Ceconi
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Coach
I started training jiu-jitsu in May 2004. I always wanted to train, but my mother couldn’t afford to pay my monthly fee, after I finished high school, I got a job and with my first payment I enrolled in the gym Rilion Gracie in Criciuma, my hometown.
I’ve always enjoyed competing since I was a white belt, as a blue belt I won a gold medal at the South American championship, as a purple belt I took third place at the Brazilian Nationals. With college I slowed down the pace of training and had a break from competitions. I returned to fight at brown belt in 2018 at the Austin Open.

BJJ Lineage

In July 2020 I received the long-awaited black belt from my husband and my greatest inspiration on the mats, Alexandro Ceconi. My first black belt competition was the Masters World Championship in December 2020, where I won a bronze medal. In July 2021, I won my first gold medal at the black belt, competing at the Orlando Open. In 2022, I was champion at Weight and Absolute Black Belt Master at the New Orleans Open, I was second in the Pan-American heavyweight division and third in the absolute.
I started training jiu-jitsu with the purpose of being an athlete, but the sport completely transformed my life, today, I think about continuing to fight championships, but my focus is to help transform lives through jiu-jitsu as well as mine. Jiu-jitsu teaches us daily to deal with our own limits, and I think that’s amazing!
