BJJ Lineage

My name is Alexandro Ceconi de Souza. I was born on November 24, 1981 in Caxias do SuL, Rio Grande do Sul. I started training for Brazilian Jiu-Jitzu in 1996, I was 15 years old. Originally, I started Jiu-Jitsu to become physically healthier. Not only did training in Jiu-Jitsu help better my physical health, it improved my mental health. Through Jiu-Jitsu, I learned discipline and how to maintain life-long friendships.
By 2006, I was a Black Belt under Rilion Gracie, the youngest son of Gracie Jiu Jitsu founder Carlos Gracie. I was working as a car salesman while training my conditioning in the morning and training Jiu-Jitsu during lunch time and at night. Finally, in 2008 I decided to turn professional.
I made my name in the sport in 2010 when I won the World Pro Championship in Abu Dhabi and Brazilian Championship. In 2009 and 2011 I earned 3rd place metal in the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship. I went on to earn the 1st place position in the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship in 2016.
Currently, I train 6 days a week, 3-5 hours a day. I believe that through hard work and focus I can achieve any goal I set. To develop and advance my technique, I have traveled the world to train with several distinguished Martial Arts professors. And, I am grateful for all that I have learned and accomplished.
The words I live by everyday are “Try to always evolve, conquer my space and write my name in the history of jiu-jitsu and MMA. To accomplish this, I know I need to give my best”.
